Our story

How Budapest Tunderi started.

“Tunderi” means “nights” in Kazakh, so for us it simply means Budapest nights. It is also a small nod to Almatynyn Tunderi-ai, a song many of us know by heart. In Hungarian, the word sounds close to something magical too, which makes the name feel even more ours.

We started this because we missed that warm, familiar feeling from back home: the music, the faces, the jokes, the way one good night can make a new city feel less far away.

At first it was just a small group of students meeting up in Budapest. Then friends brought friends, new people stayed, and slowly it became a real community.

Budapest Tunderi is for Central Asians, Russian-speaking students, and anyone who comes with respect and good energy. You do not need to know everyone before you arrive. The whole point is to walk in, meet someone, hear a song you missed, and feel a little more at home.

It is not about luxury or showing off. It is about the right people, a warm room, and nights in Budapest that feel like they belong to us.
